When Abby Crawford, a street smart art teacher, survives an attack by a sadistic serial killer, the FBI has her publicly declared brain dead until the attacker is captured. Abby seeks asylum in a remote island home owned by family friend Kurt Woermann. From their first meeting Kurt is drawn by her courage and mesmerizing beauty. Wanting to help Abby is the right thing to do, but wanting her is not. She is too bruised, too unaware of the dark past he is running from and definitely in no shape to handle a married mans' intentions. A therapist joins them on the island to help Abby recover from the traumatic experience but is forced to stop treatment when dangerous flashbacks become too strong for Abby to handle. Instead of letting fear keep her memory hostage Abby agrees to help capture the attacker.
